This webinar will be presented by Professor Antti Hannukainen (Aalto University).
In this webinar, Prof. Hannukainen will discuss strategies for reducing the size of the large linear systems that arise when computing finite element approximations to partial differential equations. Two computational scenarios will be considered: 1) surrogate modelling in the context of parametric PDEs that are solved several times and 2) local model order reduction techniques that are utilized to solve very large scale problems in cloud computing environments.
