Expertise in mathematics and natural sciences advance new innovations and solutions to major global challenges. The FAME Flagship works with its collaborators in sectors such as healthcare, remote sensing, sustainable environment, and industry to refine existing solutions and technologies and pioneer the creation of new practices. At the same time, FAME actively plans and seeks new avenues for co-operation.
On 26 – 28 August, FAME organised a three-day Connect & Collaborate Event at the Aalto University’s Otaniemi campus. By bringing together the Flagship’s scientific expertise and representatives from industry, university hospitals, research institutions, and wider society, FAME’s Connect & Collaborate concept offers a platform to create connections, share knowledge, and envision future innovations.
Hosted by the Flagship’s Principal Investigators, this event focused on R&D-related challenges, scientific solutions, and real-life applications. Each day was structured around a different theme: Remote Sensing and Geospatial Solutions (Day 1), Mathematics for Industrial Modelling, Simulation, and Optimisation (Day 2), and Medical Imaging and Technology (Day 3), bringing together over 90 registered participants.
After three days of insightful presentations, inspiring conversations, and excellent opportunities for meeting new people from different sectors of the society, FAME kicks off autumn with energised spirits and ready to continues its forward-looking scientific efforts for the good of the Finnish expertise, economic growth, and global wellbeing.
